DETAILED ITINERARY |
DAY 01: ARRIVE CHIANG MAI > CITY TOUR > DOI SUTHEP TEMPLE (L, D)
|
• |
Upon arrival at Chiang Mai International Airport, meet and greet with the tour guide and proceed for a city tour. |
• |
Chiang Mai is a laid-back city with less of a high-rise feel. Set in the jungle and mountains of Northern Thailand, this city is overflowing with gorgeous temples, religious sites, and an abundance of outdoor adventure. |
• |
Your first stop will be the historic Chiangmai City Moat, followed by a visit to the iconic Three Kings Monument and the ancient Chedi Luang Temple - "Temple of the Great Stupa" which is one of the most beautiful temples in Chiang Mai. |
• |
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Doi Suthep Temple via a scenic cable car ride. Doi Suthep is the most important temple in Chiang Mai, perched high on Mount Doi Suthep and the wat is a beautiful example of northern Thai architecture. |
• |
In the evening, savor a traditional Khantoke dinner accompanied by a Thai cultural show that showcase the rich heritage of the region. Khantoke refers to the round pedestal tray used as a dining table during the meal. |
• |
Afterward, you'll check into your hotel for a restful night in Chiang Mai. |
|
DAY 02: CHIANG MAI > ELEPHANT SAFARI > CHIANG RAI > CITY TOUR (B, L, D)
|
• |
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a tour at Elephant Safari. Elephant show, 30-minute elephant ride, oxcart ride, bamboo rafting, and jungle buffet lunch are included in this program. |
• |
Next to visit is Home Industries Village to witness the creation of various types of handicrafts, including silk, lacquerware, silver, stone cutting, jewelry, celadon, and teak-wood carving. |
• |
Depart to Chiang Rai (237km/4.5hrs). |
• |
As a neighboring city to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai is a popular tourist destination, but still less explored than Chiang Mai. It’s a sprawling and diverse province that will give you a taste of non-touristic and rural northern Thailand. |
• |
On arrival in Chiang Rai, visit Singha Garden - an agrotourism attraction with agricultural areas, tea plantations, and beautiful nature in an area of over 3162 acres. Enjoy a complimentary tram ride for sightseeing around the farm at different points, and visitors can feed the animals, e.g., giraffe, zebra, etc. up close. |
• |
Wrap the day with a visit to Chiangrai Clock Tower and explore Chiangrai Walking Street before transfer to the hotel. |
• |
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay in Chiang Rai. |
|
DAY 03: CHIANG RAI > LONG NECK VILLAGE > GOLDEN TRIANGLE > SKYWALK > CHIANG MAI (B, L, D)
|
• |
After breakfast, visit the Long Neck Village to learn about the unique customs of the local tribe. Women from this small population are known worldwide for wearing rings around their neck to elongate it. In the past, it was a protection from tiger attacks, today it's considered a symbol of beauty and modern-day accessory. |
• |
Continue to Mai Sai, the Thai-Burma border town. Here you will get to shop at Mae Sai Market, a popular shopping district in Chiang Rai for decades. It is located just between the border of Thailand and Myanmar. You will see people from both countries cross their borders to purchase goods from the opposite sides. (Optional Tour to Burma + City Tour RM280/pax) |
• |
Lunch at local restaurant and visit the Golden Triangle - the boundary between the three countries Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. (Optional Boat Trip to Laos RM100/pax) |
• |
Thereafter visit Wat Rong Khun, The White Temple. This Buddhist temple is one of the most recognizable temples in Thailand. The unique beauty, the white color and the use of pieces of glass in the plaster, sparkling in the sun make it a stunning temple to see. |
• |
Enjoy a free hot coffee at the hot spring and a complimentary visit to the Skywalk, offering an impressive, expansive view of the Mekong and the landscape on both the Thai and Laotian sides of the river. The tempered glass-floored terrace extends 6 metres out from the cliff and is 4 cm thick to ensure safety and stability. |
• |
On arrival in Chiang Mai, enjoy a complimentary visit to the newly opened OTARU Walking Street (Khlong Mae Kha). This Chiang Mai canal was nicely renovated to resemble Otaru Canal in Japan where you can stroll and take interesting pictures; therefore, it has become a chic spot for visitors in Chiang Mai. |
• |
Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Chiang Mai. |
|
DAY 04: CHIANG MAI > DEPART (B)
|
• |
After breakfast, free at your own leisure until transfer to the airport for departure. |
