The port began operation since the 17th century, marked by the arrival of the Dutch nation to Padang. until now this port is still used, although it is not a lot of boats anchored here. probably because of the depth of water in the port Muaro, so that only small boats or canoes that can be anchored here. when i comes to Padang, I was always stopped by to this area. Muaro port area is part of the old town in Padang. unfortunately, from time to time I get there, nothing really changed. still dirty. I do not know how the city government is doing maintenance on his city. but it is very unfortunate if a lot of this to keep the value of history is not maintained.
