DAY 01: ARRIVAL > KUCHING CITY TOUR > RIVER CRUISE
➤ WELCOME TO KUCHING!
➤ Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet with the friendly representative and proceed for Kuching City Tour.
➤ Kuching, the Capital of Sarawak, is an example of language misunderstanding. The name “Kuching” is derived from the Malay word which is cat in English. Legend has it that when James Brooke arrived in the area in the 19th century, he asked the locals the name of the settlement. They misunderstood his question and thought he was pointing to a passing cat, so they replied with "Kuching."
➤ Begin your tour with a visit to famous mascot of Kuching at Padungan, aptly represented by a gigantic cat statue, before cruising through China Town and onwards to one of the oldest temples in Sarawak, the Tua Pek Kong Temple.
➤ Tour through the heart of the city, passing by unique visuals such as traditional Malay homes built on stilts, the majestic Astana, and the iconic Kuching Pink Mosque. After that, make your way to the Darul Hana Bridge for a scenic view of Kuching Waterfront.
➤ In the evening, enjoy a relaxing river cruise along the Sarawak River to take in the gorgeous sights of the city.
➤ Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 02: SEMENGGOH ORANG UTAN > SARAWAK CULTURAL VILLAGE (Breakfast/Lunch)
➤ Morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. The journey will be overland and take approximately 30 minutes, followed by a short hike through the dipterocarp forest.
➤ The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre provides an excellent opportunity to view semi-wild orangutans in a natural setting. Over 20 orangutans live in forest within the nature reserve and they often return to the centre to receive supplemental feeding.
➤ Upon arrival at the centre, grab the chance to witness Orang Utans during their feeding time. Spot their delicate nests, watch their skillful movements at the treetops and also their interesting behaviour during feeding time. The guide will narrate to you the behaviour, emotion and characteristics of this special primate called Orang Utan.
➤ Thereafter, continue to Sarawak Cultural Village Tour. Popularly known as the ‘Living Museum’, the Village is a showcase of a kaleidoscope of Sarawak’s cultures and traditions.
➤ Upon arrival, explore the 7 authentic replicas of ethnic houses. Chinese Farm House, Malay's Stilted House, Melanau Tall House, Penan Hut as well as Longhouse of the Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu. Each house showcases artifacts crafted by its inhabitants, offering a glimpse into their unique cultures. Witness artisans demonstrate traditional arts and crafts such as beadwork, wood and bamboo carvings, "Pua" weaving, and straw weaving throughout the village tour.
